A new version of Rickies.co was just released. New in version 2.6:
🔮 More ‘ahead of its time’ and bonuses
Since version 2.0 Rickies.co has had metadata about picks being ‘ahead of its time’. These are picks that were wrong at the time of recording and scoring, but came true later. Sometimes it’s just a few weeks, sometimes many years. With the recent changes to The Bill of Rickies, I had to pick up the pace with this feature, so that’s what I did in version 2.6.
🌟 Support for the new ‘ahead of its time’ bonus rounds according to the updated Bill of Rickies.
- The Rickies details pages can have more than two regular rounds, and they’re marked as bonus.
- ‘Ahead of its time’ picks in the archive now have a mark when they have been used for a bonus round. This shows that they are not eligible for bonus rounds during the next Rickies.
- They also have a direct link to the resulting bonus pick.
- I will update this post with a link once this has occurred. I don’t expect it this event, as there are no available picks from the past 3 events.
📊 There are more stats on ‘ahead of its time’ predictions on the leaderboard.
- There had already been donut charts for a while, with a chart for each pick type that shows the exact count on hover.
- These same counts are now also in a new paragraph a little lower, about these visionary picks.
- And there’s a count for how many picks are available to be used for a bonus round in the next Rickies of each type.
3️⃣ New option to filter the archive by the last three Keynote and Annual Rickies.
- Since ‘ahead of its time’ picks can only be used as bonus rounds if they were made in the last three corresponding Rickies, this helps narrow down the large archive.
- When you combine these with filters for ‘ahead of its time’ and only regular and Risky picks, you get the right indication on how many bonus rounds are available.
- Added an editor’s note to the Bill of Rickies with links to these combined filters.
😬 Please note that the ‘ahead of its time’ data might not be 100% accurate. It takes a lot of time to go back through the picks and add dates, especially with the amount of picks by now. You can easily find the potential ‘ahead of its time’ picks for bonus rounds, by filtering for ‘wrong picks from last 3 events’ and double check yourself whether some have come true by now. Even though the site doesn’t say so (yet). And please tell me if so!
🔗 Copy URL to pick
In v2.5 I had added the ability to copy a rule’s direct URL. Now, each individual prediction also has a button to copy its URL. The URL will go directly to that pick and highlights it in blue.
Other improvements
- Add support for the new Risky pick scoring based on the new conditions rule.
- Also works in interactive mode, just keep tapping the pick to cycle through the scores from -1 to 2.
- Removed the “FM” from “Relay FM” to match the updated brand.
- Fix navigation tab on EUies details page.
